We’re looking for new trustees to help steer our mission and drive forward disability equality across the West of England and beyond. We’re proud that over 75% of our Board are Disabled people—and we’re constitutionally committed to keeping lived experience at the heart of our leadership.

What does being a trustee involve? You’ll play a key role in shaping WECIL’s strategic direction, championing our values, and ensuring our services stay rooted in what matters most to Disabled people. You’ll also:

  • Support WECIL’s financial and organisational oversight
  • Help influence services, policy and advocacy
  • Use your experience—lived or professional—to strengthen our work
  • Contribute to one of our sub-committees (Finance, HR, or Quality)

Who we’re looking for: You don’t need to have been a trustee before. If you believe in equality, are ready to speak up, and want to help make lasting change, we want to hear from you and we welcome applications from

  • Disabled people from all backgrounds
  • People with experience in finance, HR, policy or campaigning
  • Anyone who shares our commitment to inclusion and rights-based change

Location: Board meetings take place in Bristol, with hybrid options available.
Time commitment: Around 6 meetings per year, plus optional sub-committee work.
Support: We offer a full induction and ongoing training. Expenses are covered.

Join us and be part of a movement. Together, we can challenge barriers, influence policy, and build a more inclusive society.
