Join the Launch of Disability Activism Bristol

A timeline-style exhibition wall titled “Disability Activism in Bristol: Pioneers, Protests and Progress from the 1980s to Now.” It features historical photographs, colorful text boxes, quotes, and images of Disabled activists across different decades. The timeline starts from the 1980s and progresses to the present, showcasing key milestones, achievements, and protests for disability rights. Along the bottom of the display are photos of prominent Disabled activists in Bristol, many using mobility aids like wheelchairs or standing with walking sticks, framed with colorful outlines. A large background photo collage highlights banners from past protests with messages like “We Are Strong, We Are Disabled” and “Rights Not Charity.” Pink and red connecting lines link text boxes and images along the timeline, providing context for the featured events and individuals. A white T-shirt silhouette labeled “Overlaid with T Shirt” is placed at the right edge.

Bristol Disability Equality Forum (BDEF) is proud to announce the launch of the Disability Activism Bristol project, an innovative collaboration with Bristol Museums and Galleries, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
