Help Shape Inclusive Healthcare – Share Your Experiences with UHBW

Magenta rectangular graphic with white text that reads: “Survey about patients and community partners.” Below the text is a white icon of a checklist and magnifying glass with a tick mark. An arrow points to the right, towards a black-and-white QR code. Below the arrow, white text reads: “scan here.”

Inclusion starts with listening to Disabled people and acting on what we say. That’s why we’re encouraging all our members and the wider Disabled community to take part in an important new survey from University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW).

UHBW has launched its Perception of Patient and Public Involvement Survey, and they want to hear from you. Whether you’re a patient, carer, community partner, or colleague, your insights are crucial. This survey is part of their Experience of Care Strategy, My Hospitals Know and Understand Me, which focuses on working together to create healthcare services that are inclusive and meet the needs of everyone.

This is your chance to have a say in how UHBW involves people in decisions about healthcare services. By sharing your experiences, thoughts, and ideas for improvement, you can help ensure that Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) isn’t just a tick-box exercise but a meaningful partnership that values the voice of Disabled people.

WECIL has long advocated for co-production and for the voices of Disabled people to be at the heart of decisions that affect us. Now is an opportunity to make your voice heard in shaping healthcare that works for all of us.

Take the Survey

You can fill in the survey online by clicking here or by scanning the QR code in the original message from UHBW. If you prefer a paper copy, you can request one by contacting the team directly.

The survey is open to:

  • Patients who use UHBW services
  • Carers supporting patients
  • Community partners
  • Integrated Care System partners
  • NHS colleagues

Why Your Voice Matters

As Disabled people, we often face barriers in accessing healthcare that meets our needs—whether it’s communication, physical access, or being heard by professionals. UHBW’s Experience of Care and Inclusion Team is working to change this. But they can’t do it without us.

Let’s make sure our experiences inform future improvements and that our community’s voices are central in shaping services that are accessible, respectful, and inclusive.
