We are People’s Voice — an advocacy organisation run by and for people with learning disabilities and/or who are neurodivergent, based in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
This year, Learning Disability Week takes place from 16–22 June and is themed “Do you see me?” The week is all about being visible, being valued and having our voices heard.
To mark the occasion, People’s Voice is creating a short film to highlight the experiences of people with learning disabilities. We’re collecting short video clips of people sharing their lived experience — in their own words.
We’d love to invite you, or anyone you support, to one of our filming sessions:
Filming Dates:
📅 Thursday 22 May & Thursday 29 May
🕑 2–4pm
📍 Garden Room, St Paul’s Learning Centre, BS2 8XJ
To support everyone to take part, we’ll have optional prompts available in Easy Read and verbal formats. The space is fully accessible for people using mobility aids, and the project is led by people with lived experience — so we aim to make everything as inclusive as possible.
If you’d like to share your story, please come along. Biscuits and soft drinks will be provided.
Keep an eye out for more news and events during Learning Disability Week, including our Celebration Event on 19 June 2025 — details coming soon!
